HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL FELLOW APEKS!

Doc Wizard - may you retire with due aplomb and enjoy your future life with lots of rest, poems and grand parenting.

Dr. Chong Swan Fong had much the same problem re getting someone to take over his practice when he moved out from one suburb to another far away (semi retired).
Swanee had so many patients in one day that he could not fit them in even with appointments. He even had a full-time pathology technician taking blood samples there Mon-Fri.
However, the younger GP's seem to know better and want the glamour and action as Swanee's patients were on the older side.
He did have another GP working in the house/office - but she also had so many patients she could not accommodate any of his.
So he just left his practice, but he owned the freehold and the other GP continued on.

So you can see that the divide between the old time GP's and the new fresh ones exist in both countries.
You are not alone in thinking that you do not want to let down your patients after so many years.
Anyhow, best of wishes for your oncoming retirement.

Ray
