In reply to: Traveller and Branberry 's message, "Moves" on 09:51:11 06/10/05 Fri

Rocket nodded when the young red male backed off and although his muzzle showed little or no emotion, his eyes softened a bit. His stare then darted to the vixen, branberry, who had stood up again and tried with some efforts to walk on her own. But to the old male's keen eyes she still looked weak and defeated. There was no way she could take care of herself in such bad conditions which meant all of the foxes present should have done their own to help. Well, most of them at any rate. He had recognized the symptoms, and he knew it was a slightly contagious disease she had got. But he also knew that youngsters usually made through it with no difficulties since his own daughter, Tawny, had once contracted it. It took him longer to recover, but he had made it and knew he could handle that. It only left out the older red fox male.
"Well" he said finally, moving his stare back on Bounder and Traveller. "Since you two dislike each other so much, I think the wisest thing is that you both help his mother walk. Here, redhead, you can lean on their shoulders when you feel too tired to walk. You will stand by her right side, son" he said to Traveller "and you by her left" he was now adressing Bounder. "You said the name was Bounder, right?"
His eyes then moved to the others gathered foxes. By the look of things, the red vixen was kinda submissive toward her older contepart. Which only added to Rocket's suspect that he may be her father. "You and you" he grumbled to Dreamer and Warrior "may go hunting something. She won't be able to hunt, not for the coming days anywawy. I've been through it, and I've seen others go through it, and age makes it tougher to overcome. But she is a strong one, she'll make it allright." he then turned his stare on the red fox. Although many years younger than Rocket, he too looked like one who knew the burden of responsibility. "Keep an eye on them", warned the old fox. "Old habits are hard to die. They may not be of my blood, but I don't want any of them to get hurt, or to hurt the other. It's not the time, nor the place. Our diseased ones always come first than any territorial rivalry... and some goes for our children."
