I finally got a response from Audi over Stevens claims about Audi Oil consumption... it took 1.5 months thou!!!

So I sent it again and this was the response

I am contacting you in reply to your email dated 24 January 2003.

In relation to oil consumption on the A2 1.4tdi it is normal for the engine to consume a certain amount of oil.

Oil consumption can be up to 0.5 litres per 1000 kilometres, depending on factors such as where the vehicle is driven and personal driving style. Oil consumption is likely to be higher for the first 5000 kilometres

I trust that this information meets your requirements.

Should you require assistance with any other matter please feel free to contact me on the number below.

Kind Regards
Sean Connolly

This equates to 1 litre per 2000 kilometres not 1 litre per 2000 miles quite a difference. I am still looking for an Audi handbook to check.

>Fair comment but you did not clarify whether your Audi
>TT does indeed use 2 litres of oil per 1000 miles if
>it does I dont see how you could beleive that was
>acceptable!! I know a couple of people who own Audi's
>so I will check their handbooks. You also did not
>comment on how much Oil (if any) your Zafira uses. I
>must also state again I have always owned Vauxhalls,
>It's such a shame that they do not appear to value

>>but your comments are not entirly accurate. Audi
