First of all, what exactly is a template? :) I have never read about them or used one, so am a bit unfamiliar.

2. Isn't a gargoyle a type or stone creature? That is, isn't it basically a kind of golem?

3. Besides the freeze, I am unsure how the template differs from anything with a few claw attacks.

4. I do not understand the alignment variance, either. Do animated objects like golems have alignements?

Just wondering. :)
