Paint a Picture

Paint a picture of me
sitting with my head down,
resting on the table
in the full radiance of loss.
Would you recognize it?
Paint it in dark colors
like blood and fear,
don't add a single white;
I'm not an angel anymore.
I won't bother
to wash my hands first,
you can paint them as they are;
same goes for the dirty hair
and the tattered clothes.
Paint the table with only three legs
and the chair as well;
do the dead weigh anything,
anyways? They won't tip.
Paint a picture of the way
I feel right now,
and set it in the sun to age.
Then picture me ten years from now;
Faded gray.
