Over the next few months, Martin spent a lot of time with his family. They wondered why he never remarried or even considered having a family. He told them that he never found a woman that he could love. He knew that his soul mate was out there some where, but he had no idea that he was already married to her.

Theresa was glad to see the pieces of her family fitting together. Everyone was happy, and life seemed too good to be true. She owed a lot of her happiness to Ethan. She knew that he loved her with all his heart and that it was probably time to be honest with him about her past.

She wanted to tell him that her and Chuck never dated, and that she loved him since she was a little girl and would hope to come between him and Gwen so that she could have him. She was nervous about telling him the truth, but wanted to do this before their wedding which was a couple of months away.

Theresa and Ethan sat cuddled on the couch of the living room. All of Theresa's belonging were moved in from her Chicago Penthouse apartment. She decided to lease it out before selling it.

"Baby girl, how far away is the wedding now?"

"Two months, why?"

"Well, I was just thinking, two months is so far away. I was thinking that we should get married sooner."

"How soon Ethan?" She said, looking at him as if he was about to drop a bomb.

"Friday night."

Theresa looked up at Ethan with puzzlement.

"Are you asking me to elope with you?"

"I guess that's what they call it."

"You guess? You know that's what they call it, and it's out of the question."

"Come on Theresa. I want to call you my wife. We're practically married already. I would just feel better when it's done in the eyes of God."

"I know how you feel Ethan. I want to be able to call you my husband as well. It's just I've been planning this wedding like forever."

"I know. Just forget I asked. I shouldn't have even mentioned it."

"Ethan this is your wedding too. I should at least consider it. Let me sleep on it. I want to do what's right for the both of us. And besides, it would be nice to sign my name Mrs. Theresa Lopez-Crane."

"I thought you would consider adding the Fitzgerald, now that your father has returned."

"I did consider it. I love my father, and I am very glad that he is back in my life. But I decided to go without the Fitzgerald and he understands. Besides if I'm going to call my new store TLC FASHIONS, the F in it would defeat the advertising work I've done on it."

"As long as you are O.K. with it, I'm O.K."

"Good Mr. Crane, because that's my final answer. And I have another final answer for you."

"What's that?"

"Yes, I'll marry you Friday. And we'll live happily ever after."

Ethan was speechless. All he could do was pull Theresa into a lingering kiss.

"Reporting for duty boss."

Gwen stood up from her chair and walked over to a large gift box that sat on the edge of her desk. She picked it up and turned to the tall man standing there awaiting his next assignment.

"You know what to do." Gwen said handing the rather large package to the man.

"Yes boss, I'm right on it." And he left the room.

"Fasten your seat belt Terrorsita. You are in for the ride of your life."

Right at that moment a very small frail looking woman entered Gwen's office with panic on her face.

"Boss, there's something that you must know." She said huffing.

"Marie, please calm yourself. You act as if it's the end of the world. What is the matter?"

"My sources tell me that Ethan and Theresa are to elope the night after tomorrow."

"And?" Gwen said with a sly smile on her face.

"Well won't this ruin your plans?"

"Marie dear. You shouldn't concern yourself with such trivial matters. Everything is under control. In fact, this makes my plan all the sweeter. Find out where they will be married and what time. Send Jack in here right away."

Gwen sat behind her desk and gave a small chuckle. "So Ethan, you think that eloping will make sure you and the lovely Theresa are together no matter what. Well we shall see. We shall definitely see."

"Yes boss." Jack said as he entered the room.

"Are you done with your assignment?"

"I've just completed it, and I think you will be pleased."

"I don't pay you to think, I pay you to know and to deliver. Where is it?"

"Right here boss."

Gwen took the brown envelope from the man and began to read the contents inside.

"Perfect, this is absolutely perfect. You may leave." She said with a shoo of her hand.

Jack left the room without another word.

"Marie get in here!" Gwen put the papers in her desk drawer and took out another set and sealed them in a long manila envelope.

Marie hurried inside her boss's office.

"Marie, what do you have for me?"

"Ethan booked the chapel right out side of Harmony for Friday night at nine o'clock."

"Perfect. Take this, you know what to do."

"Right away boss."

Gwen sat back in her chair and gave a small sigh of relief.

"It won't be long now." She growled to herself.

"I can't believe we are doing this Ethan. My family is going to go ballistic when they find out we've eloped. I always wanted to walk down the isle at my wedding with a long beautiful train."

"You can do that on our tenth wedding anniversary." Ethan joked.

"Don't joke Ethan. I've been planning my dream wedding to you my whole life."

"What do you mean Theresa, your whole life."

"Um, I meant... Um."

Ethan laughed. "Calm down Theresa, I know what you meant."

"You do?"

"Of course. Every girl plans their wedding when they're little. Even if they don't know who they’re marrying. Am I right?"

"Yes Ethan, you are right."

Theresa struggled with herself about telling Ethan the truth. She wanted to so bad before they reached the chapel.

"Ethan, why did you book a chapel so close to Harmony?"

"It's a surprise."

"Oh no, not another surprise. Is there any chance of you telling me what it is?"

"Of course not. I don't know why you even ask."

The chapel had a quaint little sanctuary. It had huge oak wood pews, and it was scented with a fresh pine smell. It was so totally unusual for a Crane man to married in such a place, but Ethan didn't care, as long as he was with Theresa, no else seemed to matter.

"Ethan are you sure you want to do this?"

"Of course I am. Any place as long as you're with me is fine. I thought you would know that by now."

"I do know Ethan. I love you so much."

Theresa kissed Ethan and hugged him tight before going into the dressing room to change.

"You know, I wish Chad and Whitney were here with us."

"Do you?"

"Of course. They're our best friends."

"Well your wish is my command."

Whitney and Chad stepped from the changing area and shouted, "Surprised!"

Theresa could hardly believe her eyes.

"Whitney! You're here!"

Whitney embraced her friend as best she could with her huge belly.

"Come on Theresa, let's get you ready." And they ran off to the dressing room.

"Thanks Chad for coming at the last minute." He said shaking his hand.

“No problem. I’m just glad you invited us. Whitney wouldn’t have ever forgiven you if she wasn’t here for Theresa.”

“Yeah, tell me about it. They’re like sisters. Closer than sisters, if that’s possible.”

“Yeah I know. Well Ethan, the day has finally arrived. Any regrets about not marrying Gwen, and having the high profile life you were born into.”

“Not one Chad. I love Theresa. There is nothing that could happen to make me not love her. She’s my soul mate, my helpmeet, and my partner. I know what she is thinking and feeling, and she knows me just the same. My whole life seems perfect when we’re together. I’m experiencing total bliss.”

“Save it for your vows man.” Chad said laughing.

Right at that moment, a messenger came into the chapel with a manila envelope asking if there was an Ethan Crane present.

“That would be me. Can I help you?” Ethan said looking curious.

“Yes sir. I have an important delivery for you.”

The messenger handed Ethan the package and left in a hurry.

Ethan looked down at the package in his hands looking very confused. The envelope read: TO MR. ETHAN CRANE! URGENT! OPEN RIGHT AWAY!

“I didn’t think anyone else knew you were here.”

“No one does, so I thought.”

“Man this is strange. Are you going to open it?”

“I guess so.”

Ethan lifted the flap, and started to pull out the contents when Whitney came waddling out of the dressing room.

“We’re ready boys.”

Ethan threw the envelope on one of the pews and took his place at the altar. Chad stood beside him as they smiled as Whitney came down the isle to a soft Mozart tune.

Theresa stood at the back of the chapel and willed herself not to cry.

“O.K. I can do this. Don’t cry Theresa. Your dream is finally a reality. I am finally about to become Mrs. Ethan Crane.”

As Theresa came down the isle, Ethan was literally breathless. Chad had to remind him to breathe. Theresa was beautiful. She wore her latest wedding gown design. White satin, fitted waistline with flaring skirt, short sleeves with laced trim. The train of her dress was long, as she desired. She knew it wasn’t a big fancy wedding, but it was her wedding to Ethan, and she wanted it to be just as she’d always hoped it to be.

When she reached the altar, Ethan took her arm, but never took his eye off her. She was stunning.

“I love you Theresa.” He whispered.

“Good, I’m counting on you loving me forever.” Theresa smiled.

After the Priest said a few words, he asked if there was anyone who found just caused why these two shouldn’t be joined together in Holy Matrimony to speak now or forever hold their peace.

The chapel was quiet and the Priest proceeded on.

“Mr. Crane has informed me that you have prepared your vows, and we will here them at this time. Ethan please take your right hand and place it in Theresa’s. Theresa you may begin.”

Theresa looked up at Ethan and couldn’t help but to let a few tears run down her cheek.

“When I was a little girl, I could remember my mother coming home from work with little surprises in her pocket. Well one day she brought home a picture that you drew of yourself, a baby, and a girl standing by your side. I asked mama who was the drawing of. On the photo it had your name above the boy, and baby Crane under the baby’s picture, and a question mark over the girl. I took that picture and put my name over the girl’s head. I vowed at that moment that one day I would marry the boy in that picture and live out the fantasy of it. So, me standing here before you is like a dream come to life. I didn’t know then that fate would be so gracious to bring us up to this very moment, to be joined closer than a man and a woman could ever be. So Ethan Crane, I, Theresa Lopez, take you to be my lawfully wedded husband. I promise to cherish you, honor you, obey you, and love you all the days of my life. In sickness and in health, for better and worse, as long as we both may live.”

“Ethan,” said the priest. “You may continue.”

“I remember drawing the picture. I gave it to your mother in hopes that you would find it and complete it. Just as fate would have it you did just that. I know that there is an age difference between us, but that never stopped me from loving you. So Theresa, I confess to you this day that I have always loved you, ever since I could remember. Now, I, Ethan Crane, take you to be my lawfully wedded wife. I promise to cherish you, honor you, and love you all the day of my life. In sickness and in health, for better and for worse, to have and to hold as long as we both shall live.”

Tears never came so quickly, as Theresa heard Ethan’s confession. She knew that it would be rocky to have a love affair with Ethan Crane, but she never counted it impossible.

“May I have the rings please?”

Chad and Whitney gave the priest the rings they were holding.

“As I look in the grooves of these two rings I see nicks and imperfections. No doubt they have been tried by the fire, just as your love may be. But the uniqueness of the ring is its never-ending circle. This symbolizes a continuous love shared between a husband and his wife. There may come nicks and arguments as well as disagreements, but the love you share for one another will be a never-ending circle.

“Ethan, take this ring and place it on the fourth finger of Theresa’s left hand and repeat after me.”

Ethan took the ring from the priest.

“With this ring, I thee wed.”

Ethan repeated the priest and put the ring on Theresa’s finger.

“Now Theresa, take this ring and placed it on the fourth finger of Ethan’s left hand and repeat after me.”

Theresa took the ring and also repeated the words while placing the ring on Ethan’s finger.

“You may join your right hands again. Please bow your heads.”

The priest prayed over the couple that God would forever watch over them.

“What God has joined together, let no man put asunder. Ethan Crane you may now kiss your bride.”

Ethan lifted up Theresa’s veil and pulled her close to him.

“I want you to remember this kiss as long as you live Mrs. Crane.”

“I’m sure I will Mr. Crane.”

And they both shared a very passionate kiss as husband and wife.
