.x. the words trailed off, as if he was really, really, thinking hard about it. an emotional wave of sappy sadness was really NOT what briar wanted to do, but he figuered he might as well explain .x.

"i guess i just miss them. my parents i mean."

.x. even as he said them he thought the words sounded stupid. here was street rat briar, who'd lived for 14 years because he'd kept his mouth shut, because he'd not let other's see any weakness, going and blowing it to a girl. a well-liked friend, yes, but still. he'd liked a great many people he couldn't trust-with even a copper coin-as far has he could throw them. .x.
