Gaze shifted to this other one offering herself. Not trusted to return? Nah, Aph wouldn't go back on her word, but it wasn't that Adrian could be trusted to know this. On the same note, the other femme being in the Brook wouldn't do much for them. Stepping forward, he came up with yet another barter.

"If you would let Aphrodite go, I would stay in her place until her return."

Maybe he wasn't "worth" as much as Aph, but it was something- and anyone who knew the mare knew that she wouldn't let one of her own suffer long.
