In this climate, where compromise is almost impossible, I’m afraid I cannot see a solution to the Israel/Palestine question any time soon. Call me cynical, but there has been too much water under the bridge as they say. Peace in Northern Ireland came about because the people themselves were fed up with the violence, and communities on both sides were suffering. The same situation exists in the Middle East in a much larger scale. However, the extremist still have much support amongst their communities.
