Subject: newbie questions

I've been doing some research as I've wanted to purchase these clubs for some time. Most reviews rave about the clubs being great for the weekend player to have the same swing for all clubs. The part I don't understand is the distance. Some reviews I've read states that the clubs just don't go as far as "standard" clubs do. For instance, a guy says in his youtube video that his 5 iron wasn't going much farther than his 7 iron after days of hitting the range. How does one fix that issue? Is it the swing or the actual clubs? Before I spend $1k on these, I want to know what others have done to get the clubs to go the right distance. As of now, I know that my 7 iron with go about 145yds. Will I be clubbing up to a 5 iron to get that distance?

Any reviews about loss of distance are posted by those who have never played our irons - they are simply posting out of ignorance. Does Bryson DeChambeau lose distance with his set of single length irons (the same 4º loft angle progression as ours)? Did Bobby Jones or Moe Norman?

The fact is that in seventeen years we have never had a single customer complain about losing distance. In fact, our customers average a 2 to 3 yard gain in distance with every iron in their set over their old set of irons (comparing loft angle to loft angle and not just the number of the club).

Our irons have been played on numerous golf tours world-wide by professional golfers and they certainly would not play them if the allusions to distance loss or compressed distance gaps were true.

The main thing you will have to compare is Loft. What is the loft of your current 7 iron, the 1 iron club with that same loft will go the same distance. I have had my set for 3 years now. will never go back. my handicap is 5. I play 4-5 times a week. my buddies shake their head when they try to hit them, but for me they are perfect.

I have the Proline set. I don't have a fast swing speed. With the Proline clubs and an easy swing I can hit the 7 iron 150ish and my 3 iron about 195ish. I can hit my 3 iron off a tee and roll out over 200 yards.

Newbie, I have owned my clubs for 3 months . I just started playing golf at age 60. I was all over the place trying to hit conventional clubs, tooo many different ball approaches. My thought is don't worry about distance, worry about the accuracy of the shot, which has improved for me a hundred fold. when using the same hit every shot you play , you get better and better. The comments I am getting from my golfing friends is outstanding. I use to be just a guy to fill the group . Now my scores are becoming the best. Remember, the range is only for practicing you swing, not to see how far you hit the ball. Range balls do not compress therefor distance may be 10/15 yards shorter. For me this was a great purchase. I have been playing 1 Iron clubs and absolutely love them.As far as loft goes Google Gold smiths article on club lifts.Depending on the mcg there can be up to 8 degrees difference on say a 5 iron so when comparing you need to find out the loft so you're hitting the same loft not club number.hope this helps.
