We do not swing-weight test our golf clubs. The concept of swing-weighting is one of matching and balance (which is what we do) and not one of adjusting clubs to arbitrary swing-weight designations. Adjusting golf clubs to specific swing-weight designations ruins the precise balance required between club-head and shaft which drastically reduces the level of overall golf club performance. The fact is that you can swing-weight a telephone pole to any of the common golf club swing-weight designations which shows clearly that it has absolutely no merit when arbitrarily applied. What is important, however, is that the swing weight is the same throughout the set. Bear in mind that both the swing-weight and moment-of-inertia (MOI) are identical throughout a set of 1 Irons which is impossible to achieve in a set of conventional irons.

You cannot compare iron numbers between different brands of golf clubs since the different brands use different loft angles for their irons. For instance, one brands #7 iron may be the equivalent of another brands #8 iron and so forth. To answer your question, you will be able to hit our 19º and 23º lofted irons the same distance as any other brands 19º and 23º irons.

Thanks David,

I’m certainly onboard now with the ideas that you mention on arbitrary swing weight. I agree there should be a sweet spot in the relationship between the dynamic nature and weight of the shaft and the dynamic weight of the iron head. Looking forward to experiencing this :)

The only other queries I had were on the golf balls.

Do you have any thoughts on which golf balls complement your irons and myself?
