I posted to this a long time ago, but it never showed up. So bah humbug to voy. [chunks queso]

He sharply inhaled at her sudden lunge toward him, tenderly wrapping his own arms around her. He could feel the bones through her skin. God, she hadn't eaten for days. He shook his head to himself, gently peeling off her arms and pushing her back so he could see into her face. Again he touched the bruise that covered her cheek, this time meeting her eyes. It was hard for his silver ones to meet her hazel ones, seeing as how shame-filled his were. Shame at himself. He dropped his hand before she could see the fresh scabs across his knuckles, the bruises covering his hands, palms and knuckles. He hadn't been kind to himself either. He wasn't sure what to say. 'I'm sorry' seemed a little to cliche, and it was a little to late to say it. He couldn't hold her gaze for the shame he felt and for one of the first times in his life, he dropped the other's gaze to cast his eyes down.
