No Justine you're right, it does depend on the software, but the format is new, so the software isn't designed to cope with the split. Repechage systems do exist but don't allow the repechage to develop into a whole new competition, without programming in the new comp you can't input marks. So its a bit busier for the scrutineer, running the first division first gives the scrutineer an extra few minutes before they need the second division competition to be fully set up.

IVDA in recent years has been so busy that scrutineers have sometimes asked for pre-entries so that they can input a fair amount of the data before the comp starts.
