For once I agree completely with Ian! There will inevitably be a gap between the end of the qualifier and the start of div1 while the last results are inputted, and then div2 'entries' must then be input before R1D2 (resurrecting some old notation...)

Having the team walk on between Q and R1D1 is an option; whether this would make the qualifier seem like a on-event, or whether it would enhance the rest I'm not sure.

Handing out trophies is possible, though I suspect there will be objections as it will affect morale at key moments.

Using the 'opt-out' clause would help, because a) less peopole qualifying b) some pre-entry in D2. One side-benefit of team-marking is that there are 1/4 as many total entries, thus easing the burden a bit - actually, adding 25 numbers shouldn't be that much of a problem to form R1D2.

I think it would be nicer to have play-offs before finals -it gives them more importance (not an anti-climax) and saves the best for last. I may suggest POD1 then POD2, then FD2 FD1 - no problems switching the order then, and ends on a high note.

I should also like to point out, for no good reason, that after R1D1 comes R2D2 ;-)
