im gonna bump this thread, mainly because its the only "constructive" thread on this forum where people express their views properly....

Mr X, i dont think talent has anything to do with how good/succesful a band is. If you got the most talented drummer, singer, bass, and guitarist in the world and put them into one band i can assure you they wouldnt sell more albums than Blink 182(other none talented bands)has.

A band is judged on how well they write songs and gel together....

RHCP are a perfect example of this.... i dont think i've met 1 person who HATES RHCP. Mainly because they write catchy songs which arent annoying/repetive *cough* good charlotte, simple plan *cough* and they accompany one another perfectly...

In my opinion.. when people start rating bands and dissing other bands about how bad they are.. they might be getting "success" and "talent" confused with each other. Blink could be regarded as a successful band selling a heap of albums and having fans follow them to every show but they do lack a bit of lustre talent-wise regardless of the drumming.
