In the final game of his prep career before moving on to Santa Clara University, Angley finished with 13 points and five assists



"We fought our hardest and gave it our everything," senior guard Chris Rosenau said. "That a great team we faced. They were fast, athletic and just a quick team. They pressed us much of the night, and we weren't used to that."

The Mustangs' leading scorer, Kevin Edwards, was held in check by Angley's defense for much of the night. But he scored all seven of his points in the third quarter.

this is old news but I still like the image ... and what it portends for next season ...

The 2002 Slam Dunk to the Beach Tournament features many Division I prospects gathering in Lewes, Delaware for the nation's best high school basketball tournament.

Mitch Henke (6'6" Jr. SF, Minnetonka (MN) Hopkins HS)
Active forward made a lot of plays from being around the ball a lot. He played good defense and rebounded well for a small forward, while he didn't get a lot of chances at the offensive end since he's about the fourth option on his team.

...in the playoff game v. Edina.He's one of 2 big guns for Hopkins. Furman boumd Jadee Jones averages about 19 ppg to Henke's 21. Also.....

Does anyone know if Angley was still hobbled by that football hammy injury? Although he had decent numbers this season, he was apparently not as dominating as he was last season. Based on the picture that '66 posted and others I've seen, he is one thick basketball player. Obviously one hell of an athelete. I hope his poor shooting this year was injury related or an abbearation, because you want a penetrating point guard to shootbetter that 57% from the line. BTW I've heard the mysterious juco is from Kansas... does anyone know what school?

Brody departs Enterprise as a true winner

Angelina and Jaime Angley did not do much sitting on Tuesday night, but how could they when their son Brody was playing in his last high school prep game.

For 32 minutes, Angelina and Jaime stood from the second row from the top of Manatowa Gymnasium's westside and watched Brody cap his career at Enterprise High School.

The 6-foot-tall point guard — who is bound for Santa Clara University in the fall on a basketball scholarship — finished his career, scoring 13 points, grabbing two rebounds, dishing out six assists and picking up two steals in a 60-52 loss to Foothill of Sacramento in the opening round of the Northern California Division III playoffs.

"I thought we had an opportunity," said Jaime Angley, who along with his wife and eldest daughter, Rochelle, spent the entire game on their feet. "I liked our draw. When your son might be playing his last ball game, it is tough to just sit."

Keeping people on their feet is what Brody Angley has done since his freshman year.

For Enterprise junior varsity coach Mike Haworth, Brody Angley's legend began that year with a game-winning 3-pointer against Anderson.

"He has been Enterprise for four years," said Haworth. "You say Enterprise and Brody goes with it. They are synonymous with each other."

For four years, Angley wreaked havoc on the hardwood for the Hornets.

As a freshman he garnered all-state honors, being named to Cal-Hi Sports all-freshman team after averaging 17 points, 6.9 assists and 6.9 rebounds.

During his sophomore year, he again received state honors being named to Cal-Hi Sports' all-sophomore team, and last year during his junior campaign his was named to the all-state Division III team.

"Everyone is a family here," said Angley, fighting back tears. "Everything. The whole 'We not me'.

"It's not just basketball," said Angley, who finished with four section basketball titles. "It's the football program, coach Erro, everybody. They have all inspired me and touched me in so many ways. I have so much love for them. I can't thank them enough."

Watching him play was thanks enough for Enterprise principal Chris Adams.

Adams was one of the first people to witness Angley's presence on the court. As a recently moved sixth-grader from Washington, Angley victimized Adams with a floater in the lane.

"It is the little subtleties that I will miss," said Adams. "How he always handed the ball to the officials or helped an opponent up. He is at a whole different level."

It is Angley's character that his teammates, peers and coaches speak about first before mentioning all his accomplishments on the court.

"He has the best overall attitude," said Hornet coach Mike Worley. "He is so non-cocky, non-arrogant. To be that good and not get a big head, that is what I hope my kids can learn from him."
