I enjoy becoming Wilfred for a day, my alter ego who can be all of the things I am not. I enjoy meeting friends among both the playtrons and the performers. I enjoy the freedom of living in fantasy for a brief time.

Originally it was for the chance to get away from myself and be someone else (though Janelle is kinda the "good part" version of me. ;-) )

Now, I still love the fantasy aspects, but I also have made many dear friends at faire and go there as much to spend time with them as to be Janelle. (As I've gotten to know folks better, the line between Janelle and Jan is becoming increasingly blurry.)

Then there's the fact that I've always loved live theater; and faire is one of the least expensive sources, if you count how much entertainment one can see in one place in one day!. :-)

And now that I'm on cast at PCRF, I've added the joy of being able to perform again (which I hadn't done in many years). The chance to not only be someone else all day, but to bring joy to others and help to hook them on this great experience!
