Midnight arrived and a small, shadowy figure came down the street. Night or day, light had no affect on the ten-year-old orphan. "Find the door, Angel." She said softly to the tiny, gray owl upon her shoulder. It swooped from her shoulder and flew toward the door, hooting loudly for the girl as she followed slowly. Her white cane tapped the pavement as she followed the hooting of the owl to the door. "Come, Angel." The girl lifted her arm and Angel landed upon it. Tapping her cane lightly she walked to the door and slowly opened it.
