Subject: Check your fuel lines

Scott,
If you have a noticable smell of diesel inside the boat/engine compartment and a noticeable high rate of fuel consumption, you should check all of your fuel lines. You may have a leak. See if you have diesel in the bilge or the drop pan. Check first the lines feeding each of the injectors as these are the ones that we loosen to bleed the 4-108 and are most often the cause. I place a paper towel under each and run the engine to see if there is leakage. After that, check your diesel fuel return line and the fuel filter(s) lines, fittings, and seals.
Mike
