Irvin Feld was responsible for the WDP. He had middle managers organizing the logistics of the tour, but surely he was the top man who decided how much money would be spent on tour busses, etc.

As top man, his first priority seemed to be maximizing profits for himself, rather the safety or comfort of "his" talent. Whoever organized the logistics was working with the budget set by Feld.

It might be a gray area, but I find him ultimately responsible for the deplorable tour conditions, no matter what details he delegated to his executives. So in my opinion he's in the Villain column. Just my opinion, of course.

Buddy's parents: I put them firmly in the Hero column. It's sad how the Gary Busey movie created a version of them that persists with the general public, that they disapproved of his music. One reason among many why I dislike that movie so much.
