 Thanks to the woeful mismanagement of Buddy's estate, sales would be virtually nonexistent, and it would be barely noticed by anybody other than diehard fans.

Very few people under 40 have even heard Buddy's name.

In the '90s, when the musical was doing great business worldwide, Buddy was as famous as ever. Once that ended, his estate seemingly lost interest in licensing his image and music.

I would argue that Ritchie and even the Big Bopper are now more famous than Buddy (by name recognition, at least), which is crazy.

Unreleased recordings DO exist. They're alternate versions of existing songs, as far as I know. If big money was at stake, I think they'd be released tomorrow. Sadly, that's just not the case.
