Dear kadugo (US, Phil., & beyond),
Just to inform everyone that the 3rd annual summercamp held at Camp Wrightwood (as usual) was a success. The same old faces (but we had many guests who really enjoyed) so it's the most attended camp. There were more youth this time than the previous ones and they were more close and more united which makes the dugong CYF parents happy and proud. Practically they run the show, we mean activity-wise, even the devotion/vesper time. This year's theme was Faith in Action and ideas/explanation about the theme were discussed or shared by 4 speakers incorporated in our vesper/devotion time, 3 of the speakers were from the youth group (mga anak natin)namely TL- Ted & Lorraine Evangelista's son, Melissa- Nick & Imelda Mina's daughter, and Aldwin-our son [manong Delio's & manang Lorna's,too].
We also had the business meeting which consisted of the election of officers (because the elected officer's term is over [2 years]). But it was moved and seconded that all the elected officers two years ago will be reelected and so it was. The offices are as follows: Chairman- Nick Mina, Secretary-Boni Gulla, & Treasurer- Elsie Aldana. Steve & I were thinking to elect the office of the auditor, pero nakalimutan naman na naming napropose sa grupo during the meeting, sa next election na lang siguro. Financial report was also part of the business meeting, plans of the the 4th annual camp, and a project. Everybody loves Camp Wrightwood kaya baka doon na naman magaganap ang next camp. Our project which is always a dream is to have a dugong CYF reunion wherein all CYF here in US and beyond will really come and participate. Free registratin & free food. How is that mga kadugo. Fare na lang ang i-prepare n'yo. It might not be next year but maybe on the 5th annual camp. How we wish our kadugo from all over the globe, those from northern California (and some central & southern part) will make it on that time as well as those from the other states like Virginia, Illinois, Connecticut, Washington, Nevada, Texas, Michigan, Hawaii, Alaska, etc. How we wish our kadugo from the Philippines (of course), Canada, UK, Germany, France,(mga taga Europe), Saudi Arabia, (Middle East), Japan, Singapore, Hongkong, Australia, and other countries not mentioned can also come to rekindle & redefine with us the CYF spirit & brotherhood. Further, please read the dugong CYF mission at our web.
By the way, for and on behalf of the dugong CYF we would like to acknowledge the active and undying support of the following dugong CYF spouses who tho they were not former CYF are really one with us. We'd like to appreciate and thank Aleli (Steve's wife), manang Imelda (the first lady-such that she is chairman's wife at nagprepare ng halos lahat ng gamit), Ted (Lorraine's husband), Bong (Lea's husband), and of course Luisa (Bob's wife) who eventho she was not able to make it because Bob is on RIMPAC, sponsored our first breakfast at the camp with her homemade pandesal & tocino(yum yum), longganisa, daing plus desert baclava. Thank you so much kabagises. There were lots and lots of food, marami pang take home. Manong Willie Inocencio as usual brought the most foods. Hopefully, his wife Myrna and daughter Faye can join us too on the next one. Of course let's not forget the efforts and love of the best chef in the whole wide world, my hubby Dante and of course Boni (mimo's dad) who reserved the place in the abasence of Lorraine who was then in the Phil when the reservation was to be done. Sa inyong lahat thank you so much. Mabuhay tayong lahat!!!
There was also an organized grup of singers and called themselves Watermelon boys (Aldwin, TL, Carlo (Mimo's brother), Gabriel (mng Willie's son) and Kevin (Wendy's friend. Wendy is Lorraine's daughter). Meron din silang katapat from the dad's group. We called them butong pakwan men - Boni, Bong, & mng Willie.
We really had fun, "all because of Christ's love and grace. Thank you so much, Lord".
Until then, the secretary and the chairman will see you all soon.
