Jason,

I TOTALLY agree that we dogsport folks should stick together, support, respect, and learn from each other.

Just curious as to why you would post your PSA format/rule opinions here and not on the PSA board? Mondio has ZERO input into how they run their show. US Mondio doesn't even have the final word on format/rules in MONDIO. For us that all comes from Europe where Mondio originated.

I have met some of the players and founder of PSA and Pro K9 and actually gave Mondio videos to some of them years ago, so I know there IS a Mondio influence in PSA.

After having heard from many different people that PSA was compatible/complimentary I finally got a chance to watch a trial in Placerville, CA last month. It was a great experience for me, and I was highly impressed with the game, as well as the commradery and enthusiasm shown by the players, decoy AND the judge.

I hope to watch the video I made that day and write a post for California Mondio and my http://clubmondio.info/forum/ site.

As far as "crossing over", that is to say going from Mondio to PSA or vice versa, it seems to be possible, but thus far no one has successfully gone one way or the other. Glenn Salamanca's Nikita did ok once, but she is also maily FR, so she would not be a "pure" example to use. I would LOVE to see that happen. Who will be the first???? ......

Personally, I would not do BOTH at the SAME time. I see too many conflicts that would lower the performances in one or the other or both. When I do my write up, I'll get into it in more detail. I would consider trialing in PSA AFTER I finish my MR 3 program and have gotten some good scores. Since I am such a beginner and working alone for the most part, it's likely that it will be a few to several years :))....

If you consider trial scores as an indicator of "success", then as far as I can tell, the only real compatability is between Mondio and Belgiam Ring. If anyone can prove otherwise, I will gladly buy them a beer next time we meet:) I would like to have more chances to compeate and Mondio just doesn't have that many trials at the moment:( If someone can cross over from the highest level of whatever to Mondio 3, then I will pay their US membership AND trial entry. I don't expect that offer to be taken up on soon...

For the record, Kathy's dog's name was "Bomber" not "Boomer" (Brawney Bombadier ot Vitosha) I was around when Kathy was trialing and winning with Bomber in both Pro-k9 and Mondio (AND a few other things:) Assuredly, there were problems and conflicts for Bomber and in the training. In some ways, Kathy's "jumping around" kept Bomber from reaching his full Mondio potential. Still, Kathy likes to compete and we had tons of fun traveling around and getting to see other folks.

In any case, if you get a chance to watch a PSA trial, I highly recommend it!!!
