You explained that so well. All I wanted to add was in a Colin interview, he said once that listening is a necessary skill in improvising and building the scene. It's not really being uncreative but listening to other people's lines and building upon that. Like Zangs said taking previous ideas of the story and rounding it out at the end.

Other experts have said that their a good example of a improv team. Just listening to one another and offering the good lines. There has been instances where Colin has offered original ideas and Ryan has built upon it and gotten the laugh.

Another thing Ryan said one time in an interview is "You have to be a team player or it just won't work" I don't think it really maters to any one of the guys whose lines gets the most laugh or who originally came up with the idea. All I'm trying to basically say is I don't think they're keeping a list of who came up with the funniest line or gotten the most laughs and built their whole self-esteem on it. They are all good friends who respect one another, there's no hint of competition among them and love what they do and performing for the audience. We all have our preferences on who are favorite player is and have our perferences to which line was the funniest.
