"Maybe we should ask Shep if he's ticked off a demon lately. See if he even knows what we're talking about." Wakka shut up. Silence settled over them. "Hey," Wakka finally said. "Why did you have me lose the game?" Mikoto glanced at him. "You really want to know?" Wakka nodded. She sighed. "Fine. This might take a while, though." "I don't care. I just want to know." "Well... Okay, what was one of the things that you told Tidus when you first met him?" "Uhh... that Zanarkand was destroyed about a thousand years ago," Wakka replied, confused. "No, no, not that. About your blitzball team." "I told him..." Realization dawned. "I told him that we had a chance, but we were beaten..." Mikoto nodded. "Yes. And had you not told him that, he might not have played for your team. He might not've felt the need for it. Had he not played, he might not've gotten to be a part of your story, or Yuna's. She might not have had the courage to go on her pilgrimage then. Had she not gone..." "Sin would still be here," Wakka finished for her. "Exactly. You see why I wanted you to lose?" Wakka nodded.
