(Note: in this story kikyo is named after her mother so they call her mother Mrs. Kikyo)
Chapter 1: A shadow from the past
Inuyasha is sleeping by a tree and is dreaming about his childhood friend Akira (A-cure-a) got killed...
Flashback...
Inuyasha about age 7 is running away from a burning house with sesshomaru about age 10 or 11. Inuyasha is holding Akira's hand, his childhood friend another half dog demon who was living with Inuyasha because her parents got killed by Kikyo's mother. The three of them keep running to until they get to the village that there mother was selling some food to make some money. When they finally find there mother she runs over to them "Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, Akira what’s going on" she said "Inuyasha and Akira start sobbing "cam down children tell me what happened?" she said "she...she…ggott...dad..." Inuyasha said as he sobbed into his mother’s arms. "What...who got him...is he dead ..."said his mother with a terrified look on her face "Mrs....mrs...Ki...Kikyo hit da...daddy with her arrow" Inuyasha sobbed even louder, his mom stood up and hugged all three of them. Sesshomaru stepped back his eyes started to
water then he sprinted away. Their mother looked after him "Akira, Inuyasha stay here, don’t move, I have to go get your brother I promess ill be back, if Mrs. Kikyo should come to find you, stay out of sight, I don’t want to lose you to" she ran off after Sesshomaru.
Akira started crying again; Inuyasha hugged her and looked down the road he sniffed the air “that’s Mrs. kikyo’s sent” Akira gave a small scream, she smelled her sent to, “Inuyasha we need to hide Mrs. Kikyo hates demons and she’ll try and kill us to” Inuyasha grabbed Akira’s hand and pulled her into the bushes they waited there then they saw Mrs. Kikyo running up the road “damn those demons they got away, ill kill there mother next so she cant protect them any more, Ha …she shouldn’t have ever fallen in love with that demon or I wouldn’t have to kill her, demons and humans aren’t meant to be together that’s why I also had to kill Akira’s parents….” Akira gave a small sob, “They didn’t deserve to live, but that mutt face girl escaped from me she was out playing with that other dirty half demon Inuyasha….I must find them and kill them, demons and humans can not mix!” she ran off cursing, “Akira,” said Inuyasha “are you alright” “yes I’m fine” said Akira “but what should we do, Mrs. Kikyo is going after your mother, then she wants to get us” her eyes started watering again, Inuyasha held her close to him “it will be alright, everything will be fine” Inuyasha held her until she drifted off to sleep.
The next morning when they woke they were in a small hut Inuyasha sat up “where are we” an older man walked in “your in an orphanage, your mothers dead, we found her pined to a tree this morning now no wining, you have chores to do if you want to stay here, be grateful because I don’t like demons so don’t expect to be welcomed by anyone here! Got it?” “Yes” said Inuyasha and Akira together “and from now on” said the old man. “You will call me master” “yes master” said Inuyasha and Akira. The old man left the room, Inuyasha sat in the corner “mommy dead …pi …pined t...t...to a tree” he put his face in his hands Akira started crying to, the old man stormed in,
“I thought I said no wining now fallow me and ill show you your deities NOW!” “Yes master” said Inuyasha and Akira and they fallowed him.
Chapter 2: blood and betrayal
Almost 5 years had passed and Inuyasha and Akira stayed in the orphanage, Inuyasha was 12 and Akira was 11 now, and still no one wanted to adopt them. Today happened to be another adoption day “well now its time for more rejections nothing is going to be different” said Inuyasha “you never know maybe same one will want to take us home this time” said Akira, a couple walked into the room they looked at Akira and said “look she’s perfect and those ears are so cute lets take her” Akira looked at Inuyasha he turned away “so what do you say do you want to come home with us” said the woman “only if you take Inuyasha to” said Akira the woman looked at Inuyasha and said “oh I see, come on dear lets go find some human children” they walked off Inuyasha looked at Akira and said in a small voice “you didn’t have to do that” “we always have to stay together Inuyasha, that’s why” she walked off.
Latter that day Inuaysha and Akira were out playing in the woods when the orphanage master walked up to Akira he was covered in blood “help me” he gasped for breath and clasped onto Akira, he was dead. Akira screamed and pushed the master off her, she was now covered on the mans blood “Inuyasha what happened to him!” “I don’t know….Akira we have to get out of here! “but shouldn’t we try and help” said Akira “trust me we don’t want to be found here” but it was to late a goop of villagers came running into the clearing “you nasty little demons, you killed that man did dent you!” “No he was…” Inuyasha tried to say but he was cut off “don’t you lie to us you deity little mutt face, your friend here is covered in his blood!” “Now stay out of our village don’t come back or well kill you” Akira started to cry “you better get out of here or we will kill u” Inuyasha told Akira to jump up on his back, she did so and he ran off. They stopped by a river Akira jumped off Inuyasha’s back and jumped into the river “what are you doing” said Inuyasha “I need to get the sent of blood off” she stopped “Inuyasha we were framed weren’t we” Inuyasha looked at her “yes I think we were” he looked away, Akira got out of the river and looked at Inuyasha “where are we going to live now?” said Akira, Inuyasha looked straight into her big green eyes and said “we will have to travel around until we find a village to take us in” Inuyasha looked down at his feet he wanted to tell Akira that he had feeling for her but he thought no not yet later, Inuyasha broke the silence “so lets go find a village” he told Akira to ride on his back and they went off in search of shelter together.
Chapter 3: saying goodbye
Some time had passed and Inuyasha and Akira were much older Inuyasha now 17 and Akira 16 were now living in the village that had the shikon jewel. Now Inuyasha desired to be full demon and wanted the jewel. That night Inuyasha was planning to steel it. Inuyasha crept into the temple and grabbed the jewel and ran. Akira who was waiting outside for Inuyasha as his lookout caught up with him, but then she saw Kikyo running toward them “Inuyasha we need to get out of here Kikyo is fallowing us!” “I know” Inuyasha replied but we can out run her Akira still was worried they stopped in the forest “yes we have the jewel” Inuyasha said as he did a little victory dance “Inuyasha don’t move” said Akira “I can smell kikyo she’s close” just then an arrow came flying out through the trees toward Inuyasha. A dull thud could be heard as the arrow hit the tree, Inuyasha opened his eyes expecting to feel great pain but then he looked around, Akira had jumped in front of him and the arrow had hit her instead. “No...” Inuyasha whispered as he hugged Akira’s limp body. “ha ha ha” kikyo’s laughter could be heard throughout the forest she stepped out from behind a tree “she is such a fool” Kikyo said with a smile “to have given her life for a mutt like you Inuyasha…you see she died in vain however because I am going to kill you now anyway” she drew her bow slowly then let it go…
“Inuyasha, Inuyasha , Inuyasha wake up your dreaming” it was Kagome’s voice Inuyasha opened his eyes “Inuyasha you were crying in your sleep” Inuyasha wiped the tears off his face “it was nothing just a dream” said Inuyasha in a shaky voice, Kagome looked at him “do you want to talk about anything Inuyasha?” Inuyasha looked at kagome and thought of something “Kagome when you first found me pined to a tree did you see any one else under Kikyo’s spell?” “Well …I don’t think so” said Kagome with a puzzled look on her face, Inuyasha’s heart sank, for a second he thought that Akira should have been released from Kikyo’s spell when he was released from her spell. He stared at his feet and thought to himself, if she was alive then she would have been be near the tree I was pined to he looked at Kagome “well um... we better get going” said Kagome “we need to find Sango, Shippo and Miroku they wondered off somewhere while you were sleeping” she left and Inuyasha fallowed her still thinking about Akira.
