Author: Nick
Subject: He was trying really hard, because he was starting to worry that he might only get one shot at having a great woman in his life and a family and everything that mattered - and he knew that if he lost her this time, he would never get her back. And now he had a little boy to teach all about all of the important things in life - like sports, and money, and vacationing, and girls, of course. The transition in to fatherhood had actually gone amazingly well for him, and he was surprisingly good with the little boy - despite the fact that little Ethan was already proving to be a fairly difficult child. Just in from school - it was Friday and so he had left his bag in his car and anything else school-related was far from his mind - he kicked off his shoes and looked around quietly. He had learned not to come barging in anymore - waking a sleeping infant was not a fun thing...

  • She heard the door close quietly and her blue eyes flickered in a panic to the infant, already the little boy knew when his father was home by that click of the door and if he was awake he would scream blue murder until he had stolen half an hour or so of Nick's attention. Today , however, proved not to be one of those days. She let out a silent prayer of thanks and a breath of releif before turning on the baby moniter beside his cradle and the babies mobile, picking herself up and retreating from the nursary. She closed the door silently behind her, her long dark curls left loose over her slender shoulder- a pair of white loungers and a black tank all she wore for lounging around the house in. She turned around and let her eyes rest on nick, letting a soft grin of triumph tug at her lips- she;d gotten him to sleep with reletive ease and he hadn;t started screaming yet.
