  • She glanced over her shoulder to him as he opened the door and flashed him a bright, delighted smile, her blue eyes flashing excitedly as she hopped down off the chair and went over to him, winding her arms around his neck and brushing a loving kiss tot he corner of his mouth, glancing back at the tree "It looks so good... • He laughed softly and wrapped his arms slowly around her waist for a tight, long hug before he returned her kiss again - lips lingering over hers for a moment before he drew back. "It looks great, babe. Everything looks so good." He assured her, his grin lingering as he looked past her in at the tree, and then dropped his gaze back to her. It wasn't that his parents disapproved of her, it was just that they had hoped that he would be married before being a father, and they didn't even know the girl, and his mom's major problem was that she hadn't even had a chance to see her grandson. • Her own parents were less than approving of her situation. She had a 'nice' family, her parents weren;t 'rich' but they were comfortable- they didnt want for anything and neither had she or Luc' when they were growing up. They had wanted her to finish school and have a profession and a marriage before she did the kids thing... but they'd come to accept that this was the way things had worked out, but still relied heavily on Lucas' reports of Nick, rather than take Caity's. But they knew she was happy and so didn't interfere. She looked back up to him adoringly, leaning up to return his kiss happily, settling herself into his embrace "I need you to reach and put the star on top... im too short... even with the chair." • "I can do that..." He assured her with a soft laugh as he imagined her up on the chair trying to put the star on - and not being able to reach and ending up knocking everything over and causing a huge mess. His arms tightened around her and he dipped his head to kiss the tip of her nose, then tugged gently at a strand of her hair before tucking it behind her ear, quiet for a moment before nodding a little. "Yeah, it was alright... I told them." He knew that she had been trying to be understanding, but in the end he just felt bad - he didn't want her to think that he was ashamed of her or their son. • She lifted her bright gaze to him, her eyes flickering over his curiously as she tried to gage from his look how they had taken it. Her fingers played absently in the fine hairs at the back of his head, gazing up at them "What did they say?" She couldn;t imagine telling her parents now that she had a baby that they hadn;t even known about... telling them when she was four months pregnant was hard enough, but at least then they'd gotten over it and were supportive by the time the baby arrived. • "They were pretty surprised..." He admitted without hesitation - that much was pretty easy to predict - then was quiet for a moment as he thought on what else to tell her. "My mom's mad that she has a little grandson and she's never even met him.." He commented with a bit of a smile and brushed back her hair absently again, then dipped his head to kiss her cheek softly. "And they want to meet you obviously. They're just a little upset that they don't even know you..." That was the truth - the important truth at least. • She smiled softly before burrying her face in his neck and pressing her lips to his pulse, letting out a soft breath. She was sure they would hate her and think she was a complete waste of their son's time and life. But she'd be strong- this wasn;t about her it was about Ethan. "Don't worry baby- they'll love him." It was impossible not to- the little boy already had all the charm his father had. She lifted her gaze back upto him "Invite them over on saturday for lunch... I'll cook and they can get to know Ethan..." The apartment was pretty nice... her parents had bought it for her and so she didnt need to worry about rent or anything and as it was nicely decorated... they couldn't have too many complaints there. • He smiled quietly and caught her face in both his hands and dipped his head to press a sweet, lingering kiss to her lips. "I know. It'll all work out just fine." He agreed and assured her at the same time - because he knew that his parents were such intimidating people, but he also couldn't see them not liking her. Though it would probably take a long time before they were happy with his choice of girlfriend, and they probably had someone else in mind for him to spend his life with, they couldn't realistically fault her for anything. • She smiled softly as he kissed her, letting her eyes slide shut and her chin tip up a little and she returned his kiss lovingly, her hands curling gently around his forearms. She knew in her own mind she more than deserved him- She didn;t consider herself below him in anything other than life experiance... she had been studying at the same school as him before she was pregnant, and planned to return when Nick had finished up and the baby was old enough, she didn;t have to bad of a background- none of which was her own fault at least, and she knew she was a fairly well rounded girl. She knew their only complaint would be that she'd gotten pregnant, and perhaps that she wasn;t in the top 100 eligable females. She broke the kiss just to gaze up at him, speaking softly with her lips still close to his "I love you Nick" She wasn;t sure if he was ready for that... and she didn't expect it back, she just wanted to let him know how she felt for him. • He felt the same way - that she more than deserved him. He had never been a model student - all of the ability in the world but none of the ambition - and he had made a lot of mistakes already in his young life, but his parents had their own ideas about the way that the world worked. Either way though, he wasn't making his decision to be with her because of anything to do with them - for once he was making this call on his own. He returned her kiss warmly for a long moment and then sighed softly, and just tightened his arms around her - hearing her say it reassured him that he was doing the right thing, and it would only be a matter of time before he would be able to say that back to her. • She allowed herself a few moments of bliss in his arm as she kissed him, but these moments never lasted long with a baby there with you, and after a few moments the baby was crying for some attention, lifting up his arms and squirming in the carrier. • He had been just waiting for Ethan to jump in to the picture and was a little surprised that it had taken so long for his baby boy to demand attention. He broke a smile and gave her one final kiss and another squeeze before heading into the living room. "Hey boy. How's my guy?" He paused to kiss Ethan's head and then smoothed his hair, but let him in his seat - much to the child's dismay - so that he could put the star on top of the tree. "This looks great, Cait!" Christmas had never been an especially exciting time in his family - they had done all the typical things of course, but it had never been really all that special - so he was looking forward to a great first Christmas with his little family. • She followed him through and when he reached to put the star up she picked up their son, soothing his cries with little effort as she watched Nick with adoring eyes, a smile touching at her lips "Don't forget to make a wish..." In her own family, christmas had always been very special... for her at least- she wasn;t so sure Luc got intot he christmas spirit as much as she and her parents always did but on the whole it was a very special time of year for them. She was overjoyed and more excited than she had ever been at the prospect of christmas with her own little family, it being Ethans first christmas made it very special for her. • He did just as she asked and then turned to face her, scooping Ethan out of her arms and making a big fuss over the little boy - he was already proving to be quite demanding, and he could only imagine how much trouble he was going to get in as he got older. No matter though, because he was their little boy, and he was sweet and lovely in his own way. "What do you want for Christmas, Caity?" He had already gotten her present though, but asked anyway - because it was fun to hear what she had to say, and he wouldn't mind getting her a couple other little things to put under the tree.
