Im sorry to hear what has happened but I have experienced the same problem after being a mum for most of my life I decided to finally go to university due to my experience as some simple test I got in. However after a few weeks I noticed that I was unable to piece my work together for essays even though I was fully aware of the subject matter but unable to express it in words. I was finally diagnosed with working memory dyslexia. However I still have the deadline like everyone else and put at the back of the room with extra 10 minutes for test but when I go home and try to study and write what I know I go into a coccon and the world around me is not there I can sit for hours on the laptop looking at one paragraph. I have decided to end my university course as the stress and frustration is just too much my family are suffering. However for your boyfriend if he is managing at the moment and still get decent grades tell him to keep going his true colours will shine through especially when it come to the practical side and for him to keep telling the tutors. There is a law against discrimination.
