I didn't really start liking the show. My husband turned it on and I complained complained complained about the stupid show with its pretentious acting and sets...

and then it grew on me...

and then Michael/Nikita grew on me. I'm especially fond of Michael, but the Michael/Nikita dynamic was what brought me back, week after week.

And the writing, which was often mediocre, but when it was good? It rocked. I'll never forget watching the end of Seasons 1 and 2 with my husband, both of us sitting there with our mouths agape.


What would I change? Unlike Nell, I wasn't too upset over MMWK except that the whole premise was ridiculous, considering the canon they'd set down the first two years. But I completely agree with her about the focus that drifted from "fighting the bad guys by being as bad and ruthless as them" to "sex police". Which was horrid, and ripped the heart out of the show. By mid-fourth season, it was all over but I kept watching.

I've watched Season 5 exactly once, the first time it aired. That's all I'll ever watch of it.
