Hi all,
I just wanted to let everyone know about an amazing play that is moving, thought provoking, and really brings the idea of art as political expression to life.
The play is called The Syringa Tree it is writen and performed by Pamela Gien. The play takes place in South Africa beginning in the early 60s looking at the era of aparthide from both a very personal and critcal perspective. Pamela Gein plays 24 very diferent charecters, spaning 4 generations. It was one of the most powerful performances I have see yet!
If you can make the trip down to New York City it is well worth it. Syringa Tree is playing off broadway at Playhouse 91 located at 316 East 91st Street.
You can check out the websight at www.syringatree.com
