Which texts? This is your choice. For your questions below, both texts are great. How about is you choose whichever one you enjoyed reading most? Dien Cai Dau points to both American and Vietnamese women in the poems, as representing nation, home, and territory. M Butterfly points to "woman" as symbolic of nation and desire, but also as a construct based on image, fantasy, and social stereotype. In all cases, rememmber that the women have depth as well though. They too have voices, and this comes through in subtle (or not so subtle) ways. Hope this helps.
