And thank you in particular for acknowledging Deidra's fierceness. I so love that about her (you, Deidra!)

There is something kind of sickeningly comforting about this isolation that you, in Chicago, and I, at the end of the world eastern NC, live in. I have noticed often a fleeting feeling of false safety in thinking I can turn off my screen, turn off my phone, and be out of reach if I want to be, and no one will be able to see or mirror back to me whatever particular twistedness I may be protecting. Blech.
(Not to saddle you with my version of it, I'm sure it is different for you, however it may also be similar....) Anyway, thank you for speaking it and exposing me! Now I won't be able to get away with anything! Which is actually what I want.
