What is mutuality?

If I honor you and you honor me and we both honor ourselves, then what happens when my honoring you means I dishonor myself? Or when honoring myself means I dishonor you?

If you want to go north and I want to go south, very well, we can each go our own way. But if there is only room on the train for one to go south and we both are determined to go there, then how does mutuality occur?

Sometimes it feels like the more we talk, the less we communicate. Sometimes we can't hear each other.

I've often wished someone would write a definitive book on how to do mutuality, complete with examples of every sort. It seems like this is an art that is difficult to learn and has rarely, if ever, been modeled for us.

But maybe its just a messy sort of thing just like the rest of life.

Cassie
