Ben and Gill,
We would all do just fine together. Sitting on the porch, looking out over the lake, beers in hand, completely lost and chuckling with the ridiculousness of it all. My experience is that there's a shift in this process, wherein I begin to finally "get" more and more that nothing is really happening TO me, per se. There is nothing external to me that is applying some force or influence or having an effect on me. Rather I am the whole insane affair, the complete inescapable energy of it, all that appears external and all that appears internal. There's nowhere that I can carve myself out and state categorically that something is happening to Me. I'm just jammed into the crack of the situation, unable to pull out of it and stand apart. Well, crap! I am all this ugliness that is going on here, as an example. And that, I think, is wherein the great humor lies. One is suddenly caught up in some incredible sudden drama of some sort, with all manner of darknesses and insanities and bad behavior and every feeling in the book, and at the same time one knows that really nothing is happening to anyone at all. THAT is humorous. Don't you think?

Paul
