It seems as though there are only two things happening, or maybe three. Either we are falling ever deeper into the core wound in a kind of agonizingly slow free fall or we are clawing our way out away from it (or maybe pushing it away) using various hypermasculine efforts to reduce or avoid the pain.

Those who have given up resistence circle slowly always downward, descending awkwardly into the ever present, ever changing, never pretty muck. I am beginning to suspect that there is no bottom. Perhaps what there is, is a sort of grace that joins us on our way and makes the fall more bearable. Could this be joy we feel? Perhaps in giving up resistence there is energy released that feels like joy. All I know is that today I was happy for awhile. It was very strange.
