I think the caste system is one of the major down falls of hinduism which i think adds to the popularity of buddhism.. I do not like the caste system because it makes ppl become a slave to society and it stops people from taking charge of their own life. For this reason i think that the caste system severly stunts/ delays spiritual growth. Now from my understanding of eastern karma i now they believe we can renicarnate into animals but i have never heard that we renicaratne into rivers and streams. The only religion that holds a bleief similar to that which i know of is taoism hwoever my conception of it if ur thinking of taoism then u have somewhat of a misconception. I have never really thought of if i think we renicarnate into animals. I think more that when we renicarnate that are karma determines what are life will be like or perhaps how good or bad we have it. I think that perhaps when some one seems to suffer and suffer and not deserve it that this could be a reesult of karma from a pervious life. I still think that we should suffer and i'd disagree that it would interfer with karma. This argument isk ind of problematic. WHile they might have had it in their karma to suffer some they might have had it for some good things to happen to them to.
