Subject: My letter to Mike in response to the update

I'm sorry, Mike, but I have to disagree with you on this one.

Iraq is a nation, and Saddam is it's leader. He doesn't have to comply with UN resolutions, in fact, he doesn't have to be in the UN at all. It is his right, as a leader of his own country, to defend himself, and we, especially, with all of our weapons, have no right to tell him what he can and cannot do. Look at Saddam and then turn 180 degrees to look at Israel. Which one is a bigger threat? Why aren't we cracking down on Israel's oppressive government, who is in further violation of UN code than Saddam ever has been?
I'm not a terrorist sympathizer, but I think I'd be pissed off If I were in their shoes, too. No matter what God you believe in, no one has the mandate of heaven to commit such atrocities against human beings, not Israelies, not Jews, not Muslims, not Terrorists, not George Bush.
If you really think this war is about defending our country, and looking out for everyone's best interest, I'm sorry, the wool has been pulled over your eyes. When George W won't agree to a formal debate, immedietly dismisses every statement made by Saddam, and plans to wing a war that there hasn't been made room for in our budget, even with our defecit, you can't tell me this war isn't about one thing and one thing only: Oil.
Oh sure, the Saudi's want a part in this, Britain does, too. Give me a break. George Bush didn't win any election, his brother and his crony, Katerine Harris disenfranchised tens of thousands of black florida voters in the months before the 2000 elections, and they still have the nerve to ignore MILLIONS of protestors, and care not to give a damn about public opinion. I think Michael Moore described Bush best when he called him "Thief-in-Chief."
We need a leader who doesn't answer to special interests, and who will stop sitting on Israel's thumb. With all due respect, I think you've been had.

Still lovin' the music, though. Hope to see you again sometime. Good luck with every endeavor in your life, you mean the world to more than you know.

Sincerely,
William Barrett
