Subject: The Daily 'Shipping News - Lost on Sigma Edition

The 'ships we love.

    This is a place to:
  • have a good time.
  • let everyone know how you feel.
  • tell people why you like your ship.
  • respect others' opinions and feelings
  • never have to defend your views
  • never have to defend your favorite 'ship.

So please, post what you want about your favorite 'ship, good and bad, but leave everyone else's alone! That's not to say you can't post replies, but this should be a:

"Feel the Love & Support Zone"

And, of course, all "The Rules" apply. I'll try to stay neutral as your host. Feel free to slap me if I fail.

    Suggestions and ideas very welcome!

    TGWShark

    General Stuff

This post was conceived by AnGeL X as an oasis from 'shipper wars. Let's keep her dream (and this thread) alive and fun!

Have a question you want answered?
Want to show off your knowlege and answer someone else's question?

    Previously on the DSN....

Yeah, I bet yesterday was the day you posted the best post ever, and I wasn't here to condense it down into a snarky quip or two. Sorry, but as wonky as the Board is today, I'm just trying to get something to post. I spent the afternoon sitting in a large hall filled with potential jurors for a lawsuit, knowing that my responses to the lawyers' 9-page questionnaire would prevent me from having a chance of surviving the cut. Sure enough, I was excused, but not in time to do the DSN.

    'Ship of the Day

It's a party day over here on the Sigma board, as we celebrate the 5th birthday of the Cross & Stake Spoiler Board. Apparently, the Board started partying too early and is now comatose. So, 5 years ago I suspect the Board was filled with wailing over the death of a souled vamp at the hands of our heroine. In honor of that, let's do the Time Warp again to the Bangel 'ship!

    Question of the Day:

Fresh from my jury duty experience, who on BtVS should be tried for what?

This post is a bash-free zone

Here you go, Tarasghost.

Someone once told me, if you put a penny in a jar every time you make love during the first year of a relationship, then take a penny out everytime thereafter, the jar will never run out.

To which, after 20 years, I say, "Not if you're doin' it right!"

[> [> A Tarot reading for Andrew... -- morgain, 16:43:48 06/10/03 Tue (24.203.175.24)

What does the future hold for Andrew?

Ah, my own aegis.....

The High Priestess

Hidden Power

Seeing the potential
** understanding the possibilities
** opening to what could be
** seeing your hidden talents
** allowing development

Sensing the mystery
** looking beyond the obvious
** opening to the unknown
** sensing the secret and hidden
** seeking what is concealed
** acknowledging the Shadow

The High Priestess is the guardian of the unconscious. She sits in front of the thin veil of unawareness which is all that separates us from our inner landscape. She contains within herself the secrets of these realms and offers us the silent invitation, "Be still and know that I am the Doorway to the Mysteries." She is the unknown that represents woman's role as the crucible of life.

The High Priestess may represent an actual woman in Andrew’s future who is past middle age and is intuitive and eager to share her gifts of insight with him, so that he may be able to discover the rich potential within that he has barely mined in the latter half of this past season. Or, it may be that this card poses a challenge to Andrew to go deeper - to look beyond the obvious, surface situation to what is hidden and obscured. The High Priestess, in either case, will ask Andrew to recall the vast and unlimited possibilities he holds within himself. And to use them in service of the healing of the group and humanity....

ANDREW: So, how come you're here? I mean, you could just go, right?
ANYA: Yeah. I did before.
ANDREW: Before what?
ANYA: There was this other apocalypse this one time. And I took off. But this time...
ANDREW: What's different?
ANYA: Well, I was kinda new to being around humans before. And now I've seen a lot more, gotten to know people, seen what they're capable of and I realize now that they're just so... amazingly... screwed up! I mean, so really, really screwed up in a monumental fashion!
ANDREW: Oh.
ANYA: They have no purpose that unites them so they drift around, blundering through life until they die. Which they know is coming and yet every single one of them is surprised when it happens to them. They're incapable of thinking beyond what they want at that moment. They kill each other, which is clearly insane, but here's the thing. When it's something real, they fight. I mean, they're lame morons to keep fighting. But they do. They... They never quit. And so I guess I'll fight too.
ANDREW: That was kinda beautiful. You love humans.
ANYA: No I don't.
ANDREW: Yes, you do. You luuuuve them.
ANYA: Stop it. I don't love them and I'll kill you if you tell anybody.

Just as Andrew helped Anya reclaim her humanity, so he can help people through his inner wisdom and intuition.

[> [> A look back.... -- morgain, 16:45:27 06/10/03 Tue (24.203.175.24)

On New Year's Day I posted a series of Tarot predictions for the gang at BtVS. I will post them one a day so you can see the extent to which they were accurate....or not...

from 1/1/03

For the Wood: The Seven of Pentacles [assessment, reward, direction change]

Robin Wood has worked hard and will meet with a measure of success. This may be in regards to learning the truth about his mother’s killer, which nourishes his quest for fighting evil. It may also mean with regards to his eventual alliance with Buffy to overcome the First. He will consider a step up the ladder and may be offered a “promotion” of sorts. [to a Watcher-like role?]

The ME writers for felony littering-- all of the dropped plot threads from Restless onwards....

[> Bangel and Spangeluffy forever! :o) -- StillHisGirl *so HERE's where you all are!* :o), 17:12:23 06/10/03 Tue (64.83.27.70)

Hi everybody! :o) How ya been?

Sharky-- that's an interesting little thingy there with the pennies. If I ever tie the knot, I'll have to try that one. Errr... okay, so that's not likely to happen, but I'll tell my friends to try it. ;)

QotD: That's difficult. Pretty much everyone has gotten someone seriously injured or killed at some point or another (by accident or otherwise), so in theory, almost everybody could be tried for some sort of crime. I suppose I feel that in the Buffyverse though, the rules are different. What goes around comes around and usually you have to pay for your misdeeds.

GO GANYA!
GO WANDER!
and considering I have now helped feed the Voy Demon and it repays me by eating the alpha board, a big helping of VDDGAAAA!

and an additional retro-ship of Bangel!

Who on BtVS should stand trial for what? The S6 wardrobe dept for crimes against fashion, quite possibly. Some of the fashion choices they made in S6 were quite bizarre. Oh, and whoever put Buffy in that beige and white monstrosity in Chosen for the same thing.

Question of the Day:Fresh from my jury duty experience, who on BtVS should be tried for what?

Buffy: Fashion sense - designer label does not maketh (tasteful) fashion statement
Spike: Common sense - getting a soul never made anyone Henry Kissenger
Willow: Intelligence - thirst for power over-rode her academic mind and she let her magickal power overtake everything
Dawn: Innocence - to this day, I've failed to see how a zilloin year old green cloud of energy could not exude some sense of depth of knowledge (and I refuse to accept the last couple of eps where she suddenly could translate swahili etc as evidence)
CoW: Common sense - they never exhibited any!

[> Never been (but should've) / yet to be / were once and will be again... -- SpikedPeaches, 17:52:39 06/10/03 Tue (81.131.219.58)

Today for me is a Spangel and Spander say... the ships that have never been but should've... and in the case of Spangel, I'll upgrade that to yet to be...

Also:
Minna - Miles and Anna from This Life... were once, I think... or maybe not, but definately should have been...
Keams - Ed Keating and Alex Adams from Holby City... won't be but damn well should!
Lubbs - Mubbs Hussein and Lisa Fox from Holby City... Oh Mubbs, when will you stop being such a bastard and decide that you love her and want to make everything up for when you cheated on her?
Formo - George Cosmo and William Forrest from Servants... simply - mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... should've been but never was...
Kalfie - Kat and Alfie from Eastenders... Oh Kalfie, how I have hope for you yet... yet to be but will be, I'm sure of it!
JPrian - Brian and JP from Teachers... really should've been... never was.
Sisunny - Simon, Susan and Jenny from Teachers... what? I can ship a threesome, can't I? Really, really, never was... but would've been funny...
and finally... SPiller - myself and Patrick Spiller from Casualty... so what if he's fictional and dead? Since when has that stopped me? This one if being placed firmly in the yet to be, but has a chance category.

The inverse shipping theory. If I'm such a jinx, I'll sail a ship I don't really want. It will sink for sure.

AotD: The Buffyverse is lawless. No one will ever be tried for anything. Faith pleaded guilty in an attempt at redemption - no real trial. Buffy is, of course, a vigilante. Just ask Anya.
