Subject: My apologies to the board.........and a story of how dominant Butler "ISN'T"...
In reply to: Cheryl 's message, "Lisa........." on 09:42:53 09/16/07 Sun

......I hope you all know that my request for advice was not intended to spark such a disruption. I also want you to know that I will not participate in more back and forth
bantering. There will be nothing else mentioned on my part.

.....as I'm sitting here typing, Butler is outside after just having his breakfast. We have an invisible fence (please no lectures - it's only a static shock like you would get if you scrubbed your feet on carpet in the winter). I heard Butler bark, once (he's usually barking at the neighbor's cats who love to terrorize him), so I didn't get up to check. Looking out my french doors, I see a while tail go by my deck. Thinking it's one of the cats, I don't get up to check. Then another tail; possibly the other cat. Here comes a black tail - NOT THE CATS!!! Now I'm on my deck looking at three cute dogs I've never seen before. They're all wearing collars, so I'm guessing they belong to someone in the neighborhood, and just wandered off. All four of them, including Butler, look at me like I've interrupted their play date. One of them heads off into the woods in back of my house, but I have a hard time getting the other two to leave. I'm clapping my hands, and the three of them, including Butler, are dancing around and playing like I've actually joined the game. Finally, they head out after the first dog.

In Butler's own yard, these completely uninvited dogs were not greeted with any type of aggression. I'm hoping they haven't decided they want to be friends and return for a visit later on. Butler is never out for long periods of time, so hopefully this was a one time deal.

Again, please accept my apologies for the friction I obviously have caused. And Jacke, if you feel the need to delete the posts, I totally understand.

Cheryl, and Butler (who is now inside, but not very happy that I sent his new friends away).
