Ryan takes a moment before looking up the stairs to where Connor would be staying END OF PART ONE INT – IVY’S HOUSE – NIGHT Connor is sat alone in the middle of the kitchen as Ivy enters from behind him, scaring him. IVY You should go CONNOR No. No, I’ll stay you can’t be alone IVY Why are you doing this? EXT – BY THE RIVER – SUNSET Faith pulls her shirt back on as her hair is dripping wet FAITH We’re crazy JONES Hey it’s nice to feel stuff – even the Boston lake at the start of March Faith wraps her arms around herself as Jones pulls his pants back on JONES Cold? INT – FOREST BY THE LAKE – NIGHT A young woman is walking her dog as the night lights flicker on, She looks around in discomfort. EMMA Come on Bonnie! She waits patiently for her dog to return from the bushes. EMMA Here Bonnie, Bonnie Emma scuffs her feet along the ground to lure Bonnie out, but there’s no reaction until she hears him yelping. EMMA Bonnie? Emma steps into the pushes slowly, calling out for Bonnie by shaking her lead against her leg. EMMA Bonnie? She pauses after hearing rustling in the nearby bush before a light whistling begins, eventually becoming an ear-shattering howl. Emma begins to run back to the path in panic, but she strips to the floor. Looking down to her feet she sees Bonnie. Dead. Emma screams and tries to stand as the howling get louder and louder. From the far end of the forest a light appears, a light that looks as though it belongs to a car EMMA Help me!!! The light gets closer as does the howling. Emma’s eyes go wide as it finally reaches her she screams and we hear a tearing sound as we FADE TO WHITE. INT – GSPOT – NIGHT “Music” by Madonna, is pumping hard from the stereo as Andrew and Thalia sit sipping cocktails. Jones is holding a beer and Ryan is sat in the very far corner with Connor – talking so privately that they’ve had the area sealed off as “VIP” JONES She always let loose like that? All three look at Dawn going at it “Him” style while dancing back to back with Faith THALIA Dawn? JONES Yeah THALIA No. Faith’s clearly taming it down for you though JONES I know, it’s like she forgot I’ve see her every move since she got back to Boston THALIA Every move for like a month? Not too many moves JONES No, a year ago. Since you all met – I’ve been here the entire time THALIA Guardian Angel? INT – GSPOT – NIGHT Ryan and Connor are passing the door as Thalia stops Ryan THALIA Hey, where are you going? RYAN Yeah, it’s cool THALIA I’ll see you later? RYAN Definitely (kiss) Bye Both wait for Thalia to walk away before leaving RYAN If I get killed, you’re dead! CUT TO. EXT – THE FALLS/RIVER/FOREST/BRIDGE – NIGHT Ivy is stood alone on the bridge looking guilt ridden as Blood stains her hands completely. CONNOR Ivy? She doesn’t move. She doesn’t blink – she just stares at the bridge below. Ryan and Connor move in closer – Ivy starts to back away CONNOR It’s okay IVY No, he’s not…he’ll try to kill me RYAN Me? You’d think by the time you tried to kill me, my friends, my girlfriend and keep me in prison, that I’d want you dead (sigh) But I’m not here to kill you CONNOR Why is there blood on your hand? IVY I…I didn’t … I mean… They’re interrupted by the sound a woman screaming. Connor immediately sprints in the direction of the sound as Ryan trails Ivy behind. EXT – FOREST – NIGHT Connor rushes up to the screaming woman as Ryan and Ivy arrive CONNOR What’s wrong? The woman simply grabs hold of him for dear life and points to Emma and Bonnie, both mauled to death on the floor. Connor looks down in complete shock and disgust. Connor keeps his arm around the woman as he attempts to edge her from the forest CUT TO. INT – GSPOT – NIGHT Ryan flickers into the a toilet cubicle hoping to go un-noticed. However he walks straight out of the door and into Jones. JONES I thought you’d left RYAN Um yeah I came back JONES So I see. What’s up? RYAN I need to borrow…you’ll do JONES Way to encourage! EXT – FOREST – NIGHT Connor nods as police officers seal the area off and leave for the night. From nowhere a light whistling appears. CONNOR Hello? The whistling once again becomes a howling. Louder obviously due to Connor’s sensitive hearing. The light begins to dash toward him but, with his supernatural skills – he dashes out of the way and comes face to face with the “light” before it vanishes. Seconds later, Ivy appears. IVY Connor? CONNOR Ivy…when did you get here? IVY Just a minute ago CONNOR When that thing left? IVY What thing? CONNOR Just stay away from me okay? I’ve tried to help you and I can’t so stay away! Connor runs from Ivy who is left looking shocked and sad as she rolls up her sleeve, her hand still covered in blood. A single deep cut goes vertically down her wrist. She steps up to the edge of the bridge once again and looks into the water. Stepping up to the side as she begins to cry. She looks out into the distance where Connor is still running away, to one side of him she spots the shadow of a dimmed light. Bravely facing her reflection she steps down from the bridge and heads out after the shape. CUT TO. INT – MARIA’S – NIGHT Connor bursts through the door panting CONNOR It’s her, it’s Ivy IVY (O.S) It’s not me MARIA What are you doing here? IVY It’s a banshee. I wasn’t up there to kill people. I was there to kill my self but I’m not going to do that. I done wrong and I deserve everything I get, but that’s it, I deserve it. I don’t deserve help and I can’t escape it. I deserve to deal with it. Silence. JONES Banshee? IVY A Legend, though written as a myth. Similar to mine I guess. Old lady sings a chorus from the mountains and literally turns the lives of the isolates inside out. She can’t come in and so she’s gonna be looking for the next person to piss her off. INT – GSPOT – NIGHT Faith and Dawn have now stopped dancing, Andrew is talking to the wallpaper and Thalia looks bored. DAWN I’m exhausted FAITH I’m not surprised you dance like speed on speed DAWN I’ll take that as a compliment FAITH Take it how you like it DAWN I’ve never heard this song All of them pay attention to a thumping dance track with a hissing whistle in the background. FAITH It’s too loud, the whistle drowns out the bass. THALIA That’s great can we…what the hell is she doing here? All three girls stand up sharp as Ivy enters in a panic, they look even more confused when Connor, Ryan, Maria and Jones join her DAWN Isn’t she dead? (beat) Connor what is going on? CONNOR Ivy was a…it’s a thing we have to leave DAWN Not until you tell me what’s going on? (beat) Is she going to sing? Dawn looks over at Ivy who’s taken the mic from the DJ and suspended it from the ceiling. RYAN Dawn will you just leave and do as he says! THALIA Don’t talk to her like that if she doesn’t want to leave then she’s not and GOD what is that whistling? RYAN Get out! FAITH Why? MARIA Because if you don’t let us do this really not easy plan then we’re all going to die and this is one thing, for once, that the three of you can’t handle so just leave. JONES Faith. FAITH I’m going. Faith looks into Jones eyes and sees the desperation. She lifts Andrew and smashes her elbow into the fire alarm clearing everyone out. DAWN What about Ivy? What’s going on? CONNOR She says she knows what she’s doing (beat) I trust her Dawn looks in complete shock before reluctantly leaving. EXT – GSPOT – NIGHT The crowds are clearing with the exception of the gang FAITH So what’s the deal? JONES The Banshee it killed a girl and her dog when we woke it up in the woods – it’s pissed and on it’s way here FAITH What? JONES It’s coming! You can get to Maria’s if you run…and when I say run I mean as if this were Jurassic Park. All the girls pause one last time before Maria leads the off, the banshee slowly drifts around the corner in non corporeal (misty) form JONES Talk about throwing your voice RYAN You think she can do it? CONNOR We don’t know what “it” is…but she’ll do it. You ready? Ryan nods as Jones and Connor grab hold of him, he flickers away before the banshee reaches him. Slowly the banshee drifts down to the bottom of the stairs to come face to face with Ivy. The Banshee takes solid form and grins menacingly. END OF PART THREE INT – GSPOT – NIGHT Before the banshee can sing, Ivy leaps across the room and smacks her hands down on the button of DJ decks. Music blares out at a great level as she tears the cover off of the speaker and climbs inside. The banshee begins to scream it’s song as it tears the cover from the speaker just a minute after Ivy entered. She falls out, ears bleeding constantly. Eyes wide with pain. Dead. The Banshee’s eyes begin to roll back into it’s head as the sound of it’s own voice played back to it, building pressure before it exploded on the spot. MINUTES LATER… Connor, Ryan, Jones, Maria, Thalia, Dawn and Faith approach Ivy with caution. She remains motionless as Connor approaches her. Falling to her side. RYAN Connor? CONNOR She got it done DAWN She did this? CONNOR The Banshee could only be killed if nobody could hear it… (looking at her bloodied ears) If it could only sing to itself (beat) Because then it finally has to accept that it’s the same as it’s victims DAWN Alone. The group takes a moment in silence, everyone, even the girls, looks deeply sad. Connor looks riddled with failure CONNOR I’m sorry He plants a single kiss on her head before standing up CONNOR Sorry I couldn’t save you FADE TO. EXT – IVY’S HOUSE – DAY Connor is stood in the garden, picking at the leaves of the Ivy on the wall DAWN (O.S) Hey CONNOR Hey DAWN Figures you’d be here CONNOR Predictable DAWN Not so much – Connor listen CONNOR I let her down Dawn DAWN What? CONNOR Under all her evil, all her lies – it was all because of the pain of being alone and I let her die. Alone. DAWN Connor, you didn’t do that. She chose to do that, in her eyes it was her redemption. I don’t know what went on with both of you but I know you felt that it was the right thing to do and you did CONNOR Did what?
