>The time and season are very significant in this sonnet for many reasons. The sonnet deals with death and the gloomy setting further sets the reader's mind on dark things. By showing that the year is coming to an end he is also showing that his end is near also. Furthermore the setting is at night so one naturally thinks of the end of the day. This shows that so as the day dies so does a human life. But Shaskespeare somehow takes this to mean that this makes love stronger. Love is stronger just as the seasons become stronger in spring.
