>Shakespeare uses diction to convey the season by expressing each season's charachteristics in detail. For example, he uses phrases like "Bare ruined choirs" to show that it is no longer fall. Shakespeare's descriptions of the time and the seasons not only contain great diction, but are very significant as well. The seasons and time in this sonnet are significant because they are used to show a change over time. They are connected to death when winter comes along. As well as winter, darkness aproaching is also used to show death. This is shown when Shakespeare says "Which by and by black night doth steal away Death's second self, which seals up all in rest." The seasons and the time add detail to the description of death.
