    • I'd also say that as a striker, it's probably positionally, the role that relies most on others. Sure, you can be busy, and have loads of workrate, but if there's no service, and no one joining you in and around the box, it massively limits your ability to do your job.         • We've actually already seen it. December last year. Andreas playing the role he is now, Cairney playing the role ESR is, the two 5-0's vs Forest and West Ham (also 2-1 v Arsenal with Iwobi where Andreas is). These results are happening again. 10 games in and with the exception of Man U I genuinely believe we should have won them all!       • Absolutely The challenge is with, as Waterboy says, other attackers who aren't natural goalscorers it is easier for the other team to isolate the striker. Thankfully, I think ESR is a natural goal scorer as is Wilson who I'd like to see in that inside forward role more often. So I suspect that between those two there will be enough of another threat on the pitch to make it more challenging to isolate the forward.           • I can only see one. We are a player short of the number that Marco likes to carry (I.e. he's often said he needs three forwards, and said we tried to replace Stansfield at the death). Vini will get his move so he can be there towards the beginning of the Brazilian season and we'll sign someone who's more of a striker than our current group but can play across the front three.         • Broken record here, but everyone can chip in, not just attackers. Where is our set piece threat? It’s not unreasonable to get 6-8 goals off defenders throughout the season, I don’t think tete is offering enough going forward at the moment and might be worth giving Cast some games. Even mediocrity from corners/free kicks should mean our CBs chip in with 4/5 between them, they’re capable, just need to work on it in training.           • Preaching to the choir on set-pieces, though I'm more concerned about our horrible defensive record this season. On both sides for some reason we're just not doing it. Agree also everyone can chip in, but still to free our No. 9 we need someone who scares them.             • And just to add, I think McTominay would have absolutely filled his boots in our team. God knows where he would have played, but you can absolutely see sense in our reported interest in him.               • We get far too preoccupied with who actually scores our goals, it genuinely doesn't really matter. If Raul is occupying 2 x CBs as he does a la monday night, then it frees up more space for wingers and attacking MFs to score. I'd love to see (on that very point) more goal threat from the other MFs and defenders.
