Marco has always clearly preferred a proper No 9 for us, so I would say yes we do need one just on that basis. We need someone who can bring runners into play and hold the ball up for our quick counters. Also, I don't think I've seen a CF put in as much effort as Raul these last two matches. He's run himself into the ground for the team (even more so than Muniz, and he's the epitome of a team player). Can't see how he needs replacing at all. -- SW6.doc

Indian summer for him. Constantly, constantly showing for the ball -- sometimes in opportunity positions missed by teammates, but still having 47 touches in less than a full game. Had a 70% pass success rate, which is also high for a no.9, and assisted the important first goal. - Did not know that pass success rate. That is indeed very very good for a lone striker, especially with what is a very high number of touches for a position that is usually the most starved on the ball! I've enjoyed looking at his state the last two times he's been brought off. Well and truly spent. Takes some doing to get people to work that hard.
