Subject: Robinson and this so called fee.

All I keep reading is Liverpool or City might deign to buy Robinson for £40m in January.

Where do they get this figure from? Is this a stipulation of his contract?
Personally I would not sell in January certainly not for £40m as Wigan get 20% sell on.

If Cucurella cost our chav neighbours £65m then Robinson is worth more!

Hope he stays at least until summer then ask for a much bigger fee.

Robbo has co0me a long long way as a footballer with us. - I’m beginning to think this not being able to cross thing is becoming a wind up now, how can anyone who has watched him recently keep peddling that line. Crossing is a % game, nobody picks someone out every time, but everything dangerous came from his crosses today, look at his assist tally, weird for someone who can’t cross, even today at least another 2 half chances came from his crosses, it’s improved hugely. Transfers are as much about age as ability, doesn’t work that X is better than Y so X is worth more. Age is more a determining factor of value than current ability, especially with 5+ year contracts and PSR, even if they thought he was the best LB in the league no team will pay more than 50/60m for Robinson because of age, if he was 22/23 that ceiling would be 100m or more. CFC paid huge for lavia, caicedo etc not as they were world leading players but because of their potential and age.   - Elliot/carvalho are completely different scenarios. Last 2 seasons with established senior players on long contracts we’ve extracted decent sums for mitro and palhina, given their age (I know I sound like a broken record). The way to start getting 80/100m fees a la caicedo/rice/grealish is to sign younger players, not our policy of mid-late established prem players. Our method is clearly workinf well, but it will always cap what fee’s we get and how much we can reinvest.
