Subject: Liverpool game

Given the circumstances I’m not sure if it’s a good or bad point in the end. The game probably should have been put to bed in the first half when we kept squandering counter attacking situations with poor passes or poor decisions, go 2 goals up and that removes the emotion, the crowd influence and makes it incredibly hard for them. Saying all that, even though I dislike them more than any other club, they were outstanding, given they’d played away champs league midweek and we’d had extra time off the way they used the crowd and played on emotion was quite something, they were winning so many second balls and being tactically smart, was mighty impressed and so find them bit more likeable under slot than klopp.

Not sure what else needs to be said about robsinon, as below, one of the best performances I’ve seen from a FFC player, against a top player in top form he actually started a little shakily and too aggressive, but after the yellow was just out of this world in every sense. Cant get my head around this can’t cross line which keeps getting wheeled out, look at his assists, most other good situations came from his crosses. Plus anyone will know who’s played to run at that speed for that distance and put in an accurate cross is so hard, some will go wrong, but it’s infinitely more harder than standing there and crossing from a free kick.

Thought Cuenca also brilliant, can’t remember us ever having 4 really good prem CBs, I can see a case for any of them playing when all fit, but seems a steal at that price given his age. Iwobi and Wilson did ok without ever looking like taking the game over, I’d have kept Wilson on, he looked more like scoring, but iwobi is one of silva’s on field assistant types, bit like BDR used to be. Raul got frustrated as he could see us squandering opportunities, which then fed into him making poor decisions, not his best day. One criticism is again neither Berge/lukic looked liked getting into a scoring position, let alone scoring, clearly this is something they’re told, to sit and let AP have almost a free role to get into the box, just felt against 10 would have been good to see one of them arrive late and get onto a cross or clearance.

On to the next, 3 points v saints is so important or all that work gets undone quickly, then gives us a free hit v Chelsea. All hail king Robinson.
