Subject: Observations

A few observations that build on what many have said
1- TC, unfortunately not great yesterday. Yes he is great at retaining possession but he repeatedly passed it into defending feet when trying to progress into the box. Even though Andreas kept mis-hitting corners we did look livelier with him on the pitch
2- ESR drifted in and out of the game, seeing replays his header was easier to score than miss, but OTOH a wonderful ball out to Raul leading up to the second penalty
3- set pieces, we need a proper coach, we kept trying the cross to the back post for the header back across and they were all defended easily
4- the REF - you could see why Silva was frustrated in the first half, so many 50/50s going Ipswich's way, not getting the red card (I think it could have gone either way), there was a pretty nasty tackle on TC, Lukic won the ball cleanly several times and it was pulled back, AP's booking was pretty soft. VAR saved him, he had decent sight of our first penalty and refused to give it, and there was no booking for the guy who kicked Muniz in the face just before
5- Leno, he's great, but has he ever saved a penalty for us?
