Subject: Why the smug/dismissive response again. Why’s it ok in football, but almost every other sport it isn’t? I played isthmian league until 22/23 age, Kent cricket U16s, there’s no less passion in cricket than football. The attitude, it’s passion, therefore acceptable, means it’s ingrained, refs wear body cams at grass routes and v.good refs who may improve standards leave the game. 2/3 years ago refs cracked down abuse reduced down the pyramid, unfortunately it’s getting worse again.
In reply to: eganonoa 's message, "Agree it should be punished yet cannot see how we expect boys wound up as we want them to be for such a high-octane sport to better control their emotions than mature fans & find all the "its just not cricket; it not like this in the rugger" hand-wringing lacking in perspective. Have they never participated in activities that stir their passions & let emotions get the best of them? Can they not see the benefit of a leader inspiring such passion even if it has some negative consequences?" on Wednesday, January 08, 05:18:26am
