Except they did it against a championship team and not a fourth division team. What if signing him on loan means he comes in, scores some goals/assists and contributes to us finishing 2 or 3 places higher, thus giving us nearly 10m more income, potentially get into Europe and help attract more players in the summer? He’s far more advanced than king or godo, with a load of u21 caps, nearly 100 senior games and 2 quality champ seasons behind him. Godo has had 1 ok loan spell in L1, king is 17 with a handful of minutes, mcatee is a different level of player, who’d probably improve our starting XI, let alone squad, give us a better chance of finishing in Europe, it’s prem first team football, not FFC youth development. Ideally a loan with option to buy, but if he gave us 3 months for a few mil and that edged us in to a Europe spot, it’s a great move for all.       - Not sure why you keep calling him a kid, he’s played 80 odd times at senior level and has 16 under 21 caps. I’d like to see him in a midfield with Berge and lukic, but even if he didn’t start from day 1 we don’t have many injuries at moment, but if we got a couple in attacking positions he provides what we lack, a technical player who can unlock a deep defence.
